About our home

Our house is a beautiful 18th century provencial farmhouse ("mas"), which we renovated for 40 years. It is situated in a hamlet, 17km from Uzès, marvellous historical and cultural city. The "mas" looks like a hamlet in itself: 2 inner courtyards with figue tree, little bridge, arches... Exceptionnal stone architecture with modern comfort. It is divided into two independant parts: the house for living (which we offer as an exchange) and the architectural studio (which will be partly closed in August). Big garden with automatic watering, swimming pool, kitchen, music room (piano), billard room, living room, 3 sleeping rooms. This house is a dream house for our children and grandchildren.

More about us

  1. We are both architects. I, Francois, am a scenographer. I am working for Universal Exhibitions and museums all around the world. My wife Catherine is now spending 6 months a year in the Himalayas where she is doing documentary films. Now, we are living in a smaller house next to the "mas" and that is why we can afford flexibility concerning the dates of exchange after 15 August, till end October.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

Very wild nature around the hamlet: "garrigue", and cultivated fields. Nice rivers where it is possible to swim. Mediterranean sea and Camargue: 80km. Mountains: Cévennes at 1 hour drive. Historical cities: Avignon (50 km), Nîmes (40km), Montpellier (80km). Lots of cultural events in smaller interesting cities all around.
