About our home

** Ideally I'm looking to swap this place with anything in New York. But I could do London or some other place in the UK ;) Please note there's a cat you'd have to look after (Chouquette is super sweet) **

You'll stay on the 3rd floor (there's an elevator) of an magnificent building in the prettiest street of the Renaissance area. The place is 53 m2 (570 sqft), with windows overlooking private courtyards, a fully equipped kitchen, 1 separate bedroom and 1 large living room.

The flat has been wonderfully renovated before I arrived and I've furnished and decorated it to make it my own. It has everything you need: washing machine, dishwasher, excellent heating (no AC though, it's very uncommon in France), good Wi-Fi, cable TV, desk and printer (for home office workers) and a large bathroom with a bath tub. As there's no window on the street it's also particularly quiet.

About Chouquette : she's the cuddliest thing you'll ever meet. She's a 13 yo female black cat and doesn't need much maintenance aside from feeding her and cleaning her cat litter regularly. If you like affectionate cats, you'll be in for a treat!

The flat really is ideally located. You'll be in the historical part of Lyon, ready to enjoy the medieval architecture and bustling life especially on week-ends. There are tons of restaurants and shops and you only need 10 min to cross the river and be in Bellecour, i.e the heart of the city (also a major transport hub). One of the best wine merchants is round the corner and there's a market by the river (5-min walk) open every morning for fresh produce. You'd be in for a tyical French experience!

As a destination, Lyon is getting more and more popular, and for good reason: it's got a rich history dating back to the Roman empire, the architecture is amazing, it's the food capital of France (way ahead of Paris), Burgundy and its wonderful wineyards are 1h away, Switzerland and Italy a few hours away too, you can do a day trip and go skiing in the Alps or swimming in some beautiful lake or even going down to Marseille (1h30) or up to Paris (2h). I wouldn't leave this place for the world, but do enjoy discovering new ones!

  3. I have a cat so home exchange will mean taking care of my dear Chouquette (the sweetest thing you'll ever meet, she basically loves everyone)
