About our home

Our sunny apartment is located on the last floor of an old building where the famous workmen of silk lived formerly. We have 3 independent rooms + an additional bed (2 p.) in mezzanine. The main part is directed in the south, its windows give on a large square with trees. If you are attracted by original environments, culture (many books and music await you), good cooking and friendly neighborood, this apartment is made for you!

More about us

  1. Our family is composed of 4 persons : Christine is a WEB CONSULTANT and EDITOR. Philippe specialized in "environment friendly'" projects, Clémence (16 years old) and Louis (15) are in high school. We are fond of travelling, and we've made an excellent home exchange in 2009. We are looking for warm and cosy atmospheres, insist on respecting people's property, and we would be willing to welcome you in our flat if you feel the same. We look for an exchange in South Europe in 2010, and in the USA in 2011.

Neighbourhood

We live in La Croix Rousse, a famous historical district in which superb silk materials were woven for centuries. It is extremely lively and convenient. Public transports ? bus and underground ? are a few minutes away. You can also do your shopping in nearby shops, boutiques and/or small supermarkets, or eat out in excellent restaurants. Also, there is a famous traditional food market in our area. As you may know, Lyon is a magnificent city with a prestigious historical and architectural heritage. Thanks to public transports, or bicyle stations, like the one opposite our building, museums and monuments are within reach. You will definitely enjoy strolling along the Rhône or the Saône rivers, sightseeing the district of the Vieux Lyon (with XVth century architecture), or visiting the Saint Jean Cathedral, to begin with ... Ideally located in France, Lyon is only 2 hours away from Paris, 3 hours from Marseille by the Mediterranean sea. If you drive, it will not take you longer to go to the Gorges of Ardèche, or the Alps, all sites with breathtaking views. Moreover, Switzerland and Italy are very close.
