About our home

Our home is tastefully decorated with French and Asian antiques, however it remains very comfortable and durable enough for children (leather sofa and wood floors). The four levels are designed to allow in the maximum amount of light with large French windows, skylights and mirrored walls. Our home was built in 1904 and is in the architecturally preserved Rodin quartier. We have a view from our front window and terrace of the beautiful Auguste Rodin home and museum workshop.
The ground floor/basement is converted into a sports and entertainment facility. We have our home cinema, a TV, DVD, a computer, and children's games at this level. There is also a good selection of home fitness equipment available here. There is a full bathroom at this level, so the converted space could actually accomodate guests if more space is needed.
The main floor has our large living and dining room space, kitchen which exists on to a Wisteria covered terrace and the master bedroom & bath. The living area has numerous bookcases filled with French and English language art guides and novels. We have a Kawaii piano, antique working fireplace, HIFI, TV and computer here as well. The kitchen has all the most modern equipment and is very practical given it's smaller 'French size'. The master bedroom has a california king bed and 2 seat sofa which overlooks the flowering back garden. There is a large jacuzzi size bathtub/shower.
The second floor has 2 large bedrooms.

More about us

  1. We have management positions in Marketing (Eric - French & 46) and Finance (Linda - American & 49). Our two children are active in sports and music (Katia - 8, Alex - 10). We travelled together extensively as a couple and are now enjoying sharing different cultures with our two children. We admit to being 'somewhat addicted' to the exchange process. We have met some lovely families and have had some absolutely amazing vacation experiences over the last 2 years. We have proven ourselves to be very respectful of other's property (as we would expect in return).
We will consider all destinations during school holidays (2007 open dates): May 15-21, Buffalo NY for July 9 - July 30, paris home available Aug 16 - sept 2 for non-simultaneous exchange, Oct 24 - Nov 4, Dec 22 - Jan 6.
    2008 dates: Dec 22 - Jan 6, Feb 23- Mar 9, April 19 - May 4 paris home booked & we are looking for non-simulataneous, June 25 - Sept 1, Oct 25 - Nov 5, Dec 20 - Jan 5, 2009.
WE ARE OPEN TO NON-SIMULTANEOUS EXCHANGES as we have a second home that we can use during your stay. However, we would only be able to be in your home during one of the above school holiday periods as that is the only time that our children can travel. Open to any destination

We have a small rabbit that could stay with friends if considered a problem in an exchange.

Where is it?

The final top floor is a large den/office with a couch which converts into a double bed, TV and computer. From this level you can have a view over Paris.
We have two levels of private terraces as you enter our gated front entrance.
Our very green back flowering garden is one of the largest in the area (large enough to kick around a soccer ball or ride a child's bicycle). We have hammocks placed under the large trees, BBQ, large teak dining table, and flowering bushes serve as our privacy fence. It is VERY CALM here and an ideal place to relax in the summer daylight evenings after a day of sightseeing in Paris. We have a 'potager' and greenhouse at the far end of the garden - so start planning your dinners made from your choice of fresh fruits and vegetables.

You will not 'bump into' tourists in our lovely village.
Meudon has been described by our previous exchangers as 'an authentique quaint village with absolutely lovely, friendly French people'. AND you are only 10 minutes away from the Eiffel Tower or from Versailles by the RER C (travellng in opposite directions). If walking, you can reach Paris within 30 minutes.
Meudon has a very large forest ideal for biking, running or a peaceful walk (10 minute walk from our home). There is also a swimming pool, tennis courts and public sports facility just a 5 minute walk away. All shops and open air markets are a 10 minute walk from our home and near the RER station.
Our neighbors are very friendly and helpful.
