About our home

This former convent dating from 1850 is the place of life we have always dreamed of.
It is an old building from 1850 with its chapel and its 7000 m2 park which is located in the village of Monsac itself. This former convent housed the little Hospitaller Sisters of St Paul.
It is a peaceful and intimate place, to drop off, reconnect, recharge ...
There is a large yoga room that you can possibly use,an artist's studio in the chapel and a beautiful vegetable garden.
There are several rooms because we accommodate interns and tourists, bathrooms, 2 kitchens, a TV room with Netflix, a dining hall, and good wifi everywhere :)
The decoration is very personal, made of vintage furniture and objects found in the flea markets of the area ... no frills!
You can enjoy the park, listen to birdsong, vocalize in the chapel, practice in the yoga space or read peacefully in the refectory.
My parents live on the property in a separate house (they often leave in summer) and will be able to help you with any information during your stay.
Find all the photos and information of the convent on OUR WEBSITE:
www.anciencouventmonsac.com
and on facebook and Instagram.

More about us

  1. My name is Véro, I'm 53 years old, I'm Belgian, and it is 22 years that I live in the south of France with my French husband Stéphane, 54 years old. I'm teaching yoga in my studio in Dordogne in our ancien convent, and Stephane is a sculptor...We exchanged our house so many times for over 20 years now .. we think this is the best way to travel ....We love travelling..... We have two children, 2 boys, 27 and 21 years old. They have been travelling everywhere with us, it was such a pleasure to share all we discover with them. Our son of 27 is living and working in Paris ...and may not travel with us anymore or will come with his girlfriend...the same for our 21 years old boy.! So we may mostly travel only the 2 of us, my husband and I or altogether with my 2 sons and girlfriends .We like to spend time in big cities because we live in the countryside...I'm from Brussels and my husband from Paris so we need to stay in cities from time to time ! But we also like very much wild landscape like in Iceland or Norway,..... We are used to exchange houses (Iceland, Amsterdam, London, New York, Copenhagen,Boulder, Santa Fe ...), and we will really take care of your home as if it was our .We were also member of SERVAS, so we are used to share with travellers.
We really love Amsterdam and are always very happy to exchange in that beautiful city (Haarlem, Groningen and Utrecht too).
Cap Ferret sometimes in June or September, even during winter.
    AMSTERDAM FOR CHRISTMAS :)))

We give yoga retreat in the property, and host tourists, so we will never be able to exchange for a long period in summer . You could also come and stay with us, the convent is big enough to have intimacy.
Have a look on our website , also on instagram and Facebook.

Neighbourhood

Monsac is a small typical village in the Dordogne. From the village, beautiful hiking trails lead you into the generous nature of this corner of France. The way of Saint-Jacques passes very close. 8km on either side of Monsac, you have Beaumont-du-Périgord and Issigeac, both very beautiful villages with their shops (organic, good bakery, ...) and markets.
