Located on the bank of the Lez, the flat which is on the seventh floor of a modern building offers a wonderful view of Antigone the neo-classical district of Montpellier. Both the kitchen and living room have access to a terrace large enough to enjoy the view while you take your meals out.
The kitchen has been renovated three years ago. There is a fridge, an oven which doubles as a micro-wave and a glass ceramic cooktop. The rest of the equipment is basic, but adequate for cooking everyday meals.
The living room has plenty light and space, there is a table that seats six persons, a convertible sofa, a TV and a DVD player.
In the sleeping area, you will find:
The main bedroom which has a double bed.
The second bedroom, converted into an office, but there is a single bed.
A small bathroom, renovated in 2010.
And there are three build-in cupboards, one in each bedroom, and one in the foyer.
There is a washing machine, a stereo system, a computer (i Mac) with internet connexion, books and tourist guides (only in French) and DC's.
My name is Frederique. I enjoy Montpellier because of its great and very sunny climate and agreeable atmosphere. I like every kind of music, movies and literature and hiking.
I will be travelling with my sister, and as her flat is also available for exchange, a double exchange with Lyon (2 hours by TGV) can be arranged easily.
In Antigone District, the spectacular neo classical area, you will find plenty restaurants (a good selection just on the other side of the river Lez), and it is a twenty minutes walk through the commercial center to Place de la Comedie (the most popular location in Montpellier).
The tramway is a 5 minutes walk and takes you to the railway station, as well as most locations in town. There is a bicycle and pedestrian path that follows the Lez all the way to Carnon and the Mediterranee, approximately 10/12 km.
Montpellier is very much a southern city, where people enjoy a relaxed lifestyle. It is also a city with a thousand years old history, the historical center is beautiful and well preserved. You will find plenty to do, there are shops, markets, museums, festivals and cultural events all year long.
The Mediterranee is 10 km away. Nimes, Le Pont du Gard, La Camargue, Les Cevennes, Aigues-Mortes and Arles are some of the main attractions nearby. By TGV, Paris is 3 hours away, Lyon 2 hours and Marseille 1.5 hours.
