About our home

We have comfortably furnished the large, airy living area with armchairs and sofa, dining table for 6. This leads on to the front terrace area, perfect for meals with views over the Gironde estuary to the Medoc. The kitchen is open plan and leads to the separate laundry room. Each of the bedrooms has cupboards and bedside tables, one with a double bed, one with 2x3 ft singles and the third with children's bunks. The house stands in 1/4 acre of gardens with fruit trees and herbs. A back terrace with brick built bar-b-q sits along side the (fenced) swimming pool.
The swimming pool is approx 8 x 5 m and looked after by the caretaker.
Linen and Cleaning can be arranged.

More about us

My husband John is now retired from 40 years in the motor trade and I am a retired teacher. We are planning to travel with our grown-up children once a year to visit far flung relatives (New York, Adelaide and Christchurch).
This property is our holiday home in France and is available anytime of the year. We also have a small apartment (sleeps 4) in the French Alps - one hour from Geneva - which could be used to provide a 2 centre holiday.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

Surrounded by vineyards and fields of sunflowers in the beautiful french countryside but only 3 kms from the charming towns of Mortagne-sur-Gironde and St Fort-sur-Gironde. Both have restaurants, bars and shops.

The air is fresh and clean and there are many varieties of birds, butterflies and other wild life.

Besides an enormous amount of wine, cognac and food tasting, the area has interesting historical sites as well as leisure and sporting activities - golf, sailing, zoo, tropical theme park and so on.
