One of two rustic gites in the French countryside - a former barn now beautifully converted, with access to a swimming pool, sauna and many walking trails both on and around the property. We have 6ha of woodland, wildflower meadows, vegetable gardens, an orchard and animals - horses, chickens, cats and dogs. We are designing the property as an organic permaculture small holding and live here in multiple residences as an extended family. We also have a restaurant on site (my husband is the chef) so if we are in residence during your stay we can offer you gourmet food on the doorstep too. Close to Bergerac airport (20 mins) and many beautiful surrounding villages, markets and other attractions.
Le Verger has a private sunny terrace and garden area overlooking the fields. Double sliding doors lead to a large open plan sitting room with two seating areas and a desk for computer work, games etc. The sitting room also has a wood burning stove, TV, DVD, stereo and shelves of books to read, plus boardgames. A step down leads to the kitchen and dining area which is fully equipped. One the ground floor there is also one double bedroom with ensuite bathroom and separate loo.
Upstairs is a twin bedroom, a second double bedroom and a bathroom/laundry with separate loo.
There are lots of windows and the house is full of light. Warm in winter and cool in the summer.

We're a French and Australian couple with an 18 month old boy, Emmanuel.
Vincent is a chef, I run our accommodation business plus I'm a full-time Mum.
We are passionate about connecting with nature, growing our own organic fruit and vegetables, camping wild in the woods...and we love the ocean, experiencing other cultures and sharing our land with others.
At the end of a private road, enclosed in a valley with no adjacent neighbours, we are set in a peaceful location - zero traffic noise, no light pollution - incredible stars! The nearest village is very sleepy, but the closest towns (Beaumont-du-Perigord and Issigeac) have all facilities and are within 10 minutes drive. We are only 20 minutes from Bergerac and the airport. The Dordogne is full of beautiful villages, vineyards, prehistoric caves, chateaus and amazing places to visit.
