About our home

3 bedroom of over 1000sq ft (close to 100m2)
The flat is on the 4th (US) floor (3e in French), faces east in the bedrooms, west in the main room.

The main room is about 450sq ft (42m2). There are 3 main areas: dining, living and kitchen.
The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, oven, microwave, Nespresso coffee machine...
We have the necessary baby/toddler equipment as we have 3 young children (born 2008, 2010 and 2013).
In the living-room, there is also a tv+dvd player, a sofa that turns into a king bed in 10s (see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bqcB1-UeMI0 ). The futon can sleep one when flattened. We have a laptop that we usually carry around, but if you bring your laptop / tablet you'll be able to use our wifi network.

Our kids sleep in their room. The 2 boys in bunk beds (adult size), the girl in her own kid bed. There is a queen bed in our room. We have 2 air beds if needed (could be set in the game room). The game room has large chests and a closets where all toys can be put away. Bathrooms are small but convenient. One has both bath and toilet. There is also a restroom, near the other bathroom, which has a shower, the washer and the dryer.

Philippe's reviews

As a host (3)

More about us

  1. We have three young kids (July 2008, May 2010, October 2013). We are in our late thirties. We both work in the financial industry: Elise is a manager for a French retail bank and I - Philippe - am a quant analyst / portfolio manager.
We love living in Paris. We keep traveling even though it is not always that easy with 3 young kids, and exchanging homes is a very convenient choice (we've done it several times).

When we do not work and take care of the kids, we still spend some time doing sport (Elise runs, I play volleyball). We also like going to the theater.

A final word to say that smoking is not allowed in our flat, and that pets are not allowed either.

Where is it?

Though not central the condo benefits from the great metro/rer hub of Nation (lines 1, 2, 6, 9 and A). You are within 30mn tops of Montmartre, Notre Dame, the Louvre museum, the Latin quarter, the Arc de Triomphe and the Champs Elysées, the "Grands Magasins", the Bastille quarter,... Count 35mns for the Eiffel Tower and 45 for Disneyland.

For those allergic to subway, buses are available and Velib' (the Paris rental bikes - lovely and convenient in the summer) are all over the place.

In the vicinity, there is a large and convenient grocery store (Monoprix) less than 1000ft from the building. You should find everything you need on a day to day basis within 5mn (newspapers, pharmacy, bakery, several other grocery stores,...). There is nice market 5mn from here on Wednesday and Saturday morning.

There are typical French restaurants / cafés and foreign cuisine restaurants as well. For more nightlife, head to Bastille (less than 10mn with Velib, 3 stops with subway line 1).

For people with kids, there are several playgrounds within 5mn.

Bit of culture
Probably my favorite visit: the towers of Notre Dame (http://www.tours-notre-dame-de-paris.fr).
Walks in the park
La promenade plantée (https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coulée_verte_René-Dumont) is 10-15mn from here, and takes you nicely all the way to Bastille.
