“Our twelve days of Christmas 2017 were a treat we thoroughly enjoyed. Eric and his partner made us very welcome and arranged so much for us including a stay at Teahupoo, the ‘end of the road’ at the far side of Tahiti Iti. On their recommendation we used water taxis to explore the coast further around the island. Back in their townhouse just out of the capital Papeete we used their car to visit most places on the island. Unfortunately it rained towards the end of our stay - understandably, it was the wet season - so we missed a visit to the near by island Mo’orea. We were able to fit in a quick trip to Bora Bora having first arranged a snorkelling tour there. This must be the only place on earth where a little boat can do an airport pick up to take you swimming in turquoise waters with lemon sharks and even stingrays. (All very safe; even for us in our seventies!) Oa Oa Lodge on Bora Bora and run by locals provided a cheaper alternative to the exclusive resorts on the surrounding motu. Eric’s Tahiti home was attractive and comfortable so we were able to relax when back in town. The nearby general store was very convenient and we were able to walk to restaurants on the harbour where the ‘Pink Coconut’ provided us with happy memories of New Year celebrated with floral crowned locals and visitors. It was necessary to have a car to get to the centre of Papeete which though not the most picturesque place did have interesting murals/street art as well as pearl shops. We loved our time in French Polynesia and thoroughly recommend Eric’s place as a base for exploration. Jenny and John”
