Our home, is one amongst the ten first ecological houses of centre Paris. It was built in 2010 with a modernist inspiration at the back of a simple courtyard of this very popular area of the 17th Arrondissement of Paris. It is situtated in a working class area with very mixed population, very near from trendy village des batignoles where many painters lived and on a straight line between Montmartre and Les Champs Elysées.
63 m² (678 ft²) for the house and 50 m² (538 ft²) for the garden. A wooden frame for the walls and a supperb tripple glazing facade makes for a very quiet place overlooking the cutest japanese inspired garden. It has appeared in a number of ecological architecture and interior design magazines.
I personnaly made the decoration from scracth and chose carefully paches of coulour to brighten up very light coulours on the walls of the main room. Some of the funiture has been created by myself the rest has been carefully chosen amongst simple antiques. The main room offers a Sofa area and an open kitchen with a big table. It also features a very high ceiling and therefore a mezzanine hosts a library with desk and computer. The bedroom is more intimate and also looks out on the garden. It is fusnished with a queen size bed and an amazinly comfortable ecological memory foam matress. Last, the shower room is very high in coulour and equipped with design but ecological water distribution.
The house has got most of comfort equipements such as Apple Computer, WIFI, HIFI, Washing machine and Dishwasher. There is no television.
The garden is furnished with a table, chairs and desk chair. There is also a velum to protect from the sun in summer.
The house has appeared in design ecological magazines and books. You can check the following link for an interview of my architect in French with views of the house : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=trOsr18iwDE
