About our home

Our home is a small but very cute studio apartment, on a top floor of a three-story high building.
There is only one main room, but it is very practically arranged, with a kitchen space in one part, a king size bed in another, an original desk, hand built around wooden beams, couch and tv... Even though it's underneath the roof, the three corner windows plus velux window in the ceiling provide lots of light to the room.
the ficus tree, which has been here for years, reaches as high as the ceiling window.
The floor is covered with old-fashion red tiles, called "tomettes". The color on the pictures is the natural color of this type of tiles.
This and the wooden beams add to the very "boheme" look of the place.

The bathroom on the left handside of the entrance door has a bathtub and toilets. The washing machine is there too.

Our apartment definitly has an "American in Paris" feel to it.
At the moment, we are open to all offers, especially week-ends or holidays in Europe (Venise, Rome, Lisboa, London, Vienna, you name it...)

More about us

  1. Brice is an assitant editor and editor on documentary films for television and cinema. I(Melanie) am an assistant producer and production manager also on documentaries for television. We are both in our mid-twenties. We have been in Paris fo 4 1/2 years now, and even tough we have grown very fond of the city, we would like to travel to different cities.
We have had two echange experiences so far, that went both very well. We definitly think it is a great way to discover a new place, and really experience the everyday-life there rather than seeing a very touristic side of it.
We will take very good care of your home and expect you to do the same with ours.

Where is it?

The apartment is located in the center of Paris, halfway between Place de la Bastille and Place de la République, 10 minutes walk away from each.
It is very well situated, with 2 subway lines passing near by (2 min and 5 min away), that can each take you to many different parts of the city.
The hype and fashionable part of town called "Le Marais" is only a 10 minutes walk away
The best way to get around in paris and appreciate the city, especially in the summer, is with bike. you can get basically anywhere in 15-20 minutes bike ride (Notre-Dame, Saint Germain, the department stores on Boulevard Haussmann).
The subway will also take you there in 15 minutes.

There is a small grocery store right across the street, and five minute walk away you will find stores for fish, wine, cheese, fresh fruit and vegetables, and a bigger grocery store that closes at 10pm. There is also a market 4 days a week, on the boulevard 5 minutes away
