About our home

Paris is a walking city with a great public transport system. Our apartment is ideally located near services, 2 Metro Lines, 2 Bus Lines, shopping, parks and the Seine River. The Eiffel Tower is an easy walk. The apartment is on the first floor (Europe) of a seven-story building constructed in 1916. There is an elevator if needed and garbage is collected on the ground floor for municipal recycling. All of the rooms have double glazed windows and the lounge windows open on to a lively street scene. We have enjoyed living here for the past six years and look forward to living here for many more. Kindly note that for point swaps, we ask for an 80 euro cleaning fee.

Neighbourhood

The 15th Arrondissement (District) is a sought after neighborhood. It is the largest in Paris, roughly the size of Bordeaux, yet it has the feel of a small town huddled in the facilities of one of the worlds most beautiful cities. It is known for its quality and efficient living. Parisians expect to get what they want and need by walking. Within one minute of the flat are: a Monop convenience store, 70 & 88 bus routes, a small park, bikes for rent, dentists, physiotherapists, pharmacy and plumbers. Within 3-5 minutes are: Metro Line 8, cafes and restaurants, 3 bakeries, Rue du Commerce shopping street, medical technology clinic and a cheese shop. Within 10-15 minutes are: 3 organic food stores, Metro Line 10, Beaugrenelle shopping mall, Rue Charles Michel Tuesday & Friday street market, buchers, fish mongers, 3 more bakeries, public swimming pool and doctor offices. within 20-30 minutes are: Seine River and walking island, Eiffel Tower, American Library, Citroyn Park and Trocadero Gardens & Museums.

Buzzy restaurants
A large variety (e.g., traditional French, Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Lebanese, Iranian, Korean) within walking distance. Our street is famous in Paris for its Iranian restaurants and grocery stores; the district is known for its concentration of Korean restaurants.
Cool bars
The Bureau is down the street. There are also several wine shops for wine and cheese in the evenings.
Cozy cafés
We like La Tour Eiffel. There is also Le Signal, Le Beaugrenelle, etc.
Retail therapy
Rue du Commerce, with many high street brands, is 3-5 minutes away. Le Bon Marche, for the most exquisite shopping (in our view) is a few bus stops away.
Bit of culture
Museums, dance, theatre events, festivals come in all sizes and types. www.sortiraparis.com is the source we prefer to find out what's on. Lost in Frenchlation, offers good French and international films with English subtitles, usually on Friday evenings.
Walks in the park
The is a small park off the square, a minute away from our building. Several larger parks (Parc Georges Brassens, Parc Citroen, Champ de Mars) are within walking distance of the flat. The Bois de Boulogne is at the end of one of our metro lines.
Spot of exercise
Jogging on the banks of the Seine, on the Ile des Cygnes is 10 minutes away. There are several fitness centres in the neighborhood.
Day tripping
If you ever tire of Paris, the regional trains and the high speed trains put you within a few hours of most French leading cities. T
