My boyfriend and I have been living, for 2 years, in a 35 square meters flat with 2 balconies, one small and one larger where we can have our breakfasts and lunches, or even have dinners during summer or warm evenings, at the 6th and last floor in a little peaceful residence located in the 11th district of Paris.
We only have one bedroom (queensize mattress - 160*200), but, in the living room, we have a futon sofa that can be used for temp bed.
We have a little kitchen in which we have a rosieres cooker (3 in 1, cooker, oven and dishwasher), a coffee machine, two television sets (a small in the bedroom and a flat screen in the living room with cable programmes), a dvd set and connexion with internet available (wifi network).
We have a bath in our bathroom.
We are both non smokers but accept that other people smoke in our flat.
Our cocoon flat is very charming and ideal for a couple, even with one child. There is no partition and all the rooms are very well laid out. Very illuminated, peaceful and quiet as it is located at the 6th and last floor.
We have been living in the 11th district of Paris, in the right bank of Paris. I like this area, as it is both quiet and not far from lively and busy places (15 walk minutes from Bastille area). We have a short walk (max 5 minutes) to public transportation (underground number 9 and 2 and a bus, number 76, going to Saint Paul and Louvre Rivoli's areas). If you go down our street (rue de charonne) towards Bastille area, there are a lot of charming bars and restaurants. Every day, except on Mondays, there is a very charming market where you can buy fruits and vegetables and drink mint teas or eat cooked pork meat and cheese...
My boyfriend and I were both born in Marseille. I have been living in Paris since 2001 and my boyfriend since 2005, but he had already been living in Paris for 2 years before. I am 31 and he's 29.
He is an architect and is working for Lacaton and Vassal architects, and I am working as an assistant in a architect agency (Francis Soler architect), in Saint Germain des Prés.
We kept some close friends and our families in Marseille but we have a lot of good and close friends in Paris now...
I studied foreign languages (English and Italian) at the univeristy of Aix en Provence and at the end of my 4th year, I decided to live in Paris.
I like Paris as it is a big city where you can do many cultural things, go to exhibitions, previews, theater, in clubs, feel crowd and busy people in the city. I think I am a real city dweller.
