About our home

Our flat, in a modern building, has a family story, previously occupied by my brother, we jumped at the occasion to rent it when he left for a larger place (baby on the way !). So here we are, in the centre, literally the CENTRE, of Paris.
We have a bedroom, with a double bed, a modern bathroom (bath/shower), a cute kitchen where you can take your meals. We tend to eat in our living room, only because when I cook I like to use my space, my tools, my pots and pans ... The living room is cosy, one of our sofa can be used as a single bed. Usefull for a child, used to camping... if needed.
Modern parquet floors and white walls, we keep a modern but warm athmosphere to our home. We love visual arts and have therefore put quite a few pictures up the walls, mostly from artists we have met. Plenty of books, in Engish, French and Spanish. We have made an office space in the living room, we would happily put our computer at your disposal.
We have a parking space in the building, but haven't got a car. Paris public transport being so easy... the parking lot would be available for you if you wanted to rent a car during your stay.
Our flat looks onto the street (2nd floor with an elevator). Strangely quiet if you consider how central we are ...
Welcome home !

More about us

  1. Trevor and Mélanie, Bristish and French, the entente cordiale made reality, teacher at an international school and consultant for a non profit making organisation. We have met, travelled, lived in Madrid, Spain and Bury St Edmunds in England and now settled in Paris. Until our next move. We enjoy exploring this city again, and again and try to get organised to take advantage of everything it has to offer … a challenge sometimes as work can take over....
Traveling and discovering new places is the top favourite of ours, whenever possible we get on the train and set for trips around France. We hope to enlarge our scope with this flat swapping experience !

Where is it?

Our claim to be central cannot be more justified. We cannot explain the excitement, to step out of the building and find ourselves surrounded by Paris’s best. Concorde’s square is just amazing at all time of day and night. From there you see the Eiffel tower twinkling on the hour, the Musée d’Orsay (19th century art) is just a bridge across, the Louvres is on your left, after a stroll through the tuileries gardens, the champs Elysées on your right. You can walk everywhere from here, or take one of the three main metro lines meeting at « our » station. The intercity trains are also close at hand with Auber station (the Opéra). Real handy for the access to the airports (count 50 minutes though as the airports are well out of town).
We have found « our » restaurants in the area, Japonese, French, Irish pub… But one of the joys of Paris is to discover your own favourite place to eat…
I will resist listing all there is to do, see, taste, experience in Paris. I strongly believe Paris is a city that is unique to every single one of its visitors. There might be millions of us in town, thousands of visitors, but you will make it a unique experience by finding the little corner shop that has just what you wanted that day, by capturing the light on the river Seine just after a coffee in the morning, or the stroll in one of the gardens after a day of exhibits and shopping… We are sure our home will serve you as the perfect base for your perfect visit.
