About our home

Our home in Paris is small but very charming. It is on the third (fourth) floor of an historic building in the heart of the Latin Quarter. It has an elevator. It has a tiny but very well-equipped kitchen. There is a separate dining room, living room and bedroom. We have a separate bath and WC. The bathroom has a tub with a shower and assist bar as well as a bidet. We have a washer/dryer combination and an oven/dishwasher combination The apartment is full of original artwork and antiques. This is our primary residence and we have wireless internet, a giant flat screen TV with channels in English and lots of movies and guidebooks in English. The apartment is full of light with three windows overlooking the beautiful courtyard and two more overlooking our very small street.

More about us

  1. We are Rebecca and Gerry, a retired social worker and psychiatrist. Rebecca is 54 and Gerry is 60. We have done more than twenty home exchanges in Mexico, Europe and Canada. Most of our exchanges have been with our home in New Orleans which we recently gave up. That is our primary destination although we are pretty intrepid and willing to go just about anywhere. We can provide lots of references both in Paris and in the US. Although Rebecca speaks French, and can help you make restaurant reservations if you like, it is not necessary in this neighborhood.

Where is it?

We are in the heart of Paris in the Latin Quarter. The closest Métro (Maubert Mutualité) stop is one block away and we are within a three block radius of dozens of restaurants. We are one block from the Seine. There are two grocery stores within two blocks. At Place Maubert, one block away, you will find a cheese shop, wine shop, butcher shop, bakery, greengrocer and a fish monger. Three days a week, there is a street market which is particularly good on Saturdays when you can buy fresh chickens, rabbits and ducks as well as the best olive oil to be had in Paris. You can, quite literally, hear the bells of Notre Dame -- it's about a three minute walk.
