About our home

Our flat is located in a quiet street in a 19th century buiding with garden areas (something quite rare in the capital). Closeby, the Moulin Rouge and the Sacré-coeur are at five minutes reach. Well-equipped in a loft spirit, the first floor host a three-room open dining and living room, a kitchen, the parents room with an ensuite- shower room. upstairs, it is tour daughters territory with two rooms and their bathroom. It combines the pleasures of a house with the facilities of a center location in the city of lights. You can either when it's chilly rest by the fire or enjoy the sun on our full of flowers terrace. Or hit the town and discover all the wonders of Paris (Opéra Garnier, Louvre, the Seine walks, Notre dame, Marais district, etc) are less than 30 minutes away.

More about us

  1. We are a family of four. We have two daughters Alma aged 14 and Calista aged 18. Well five if you count our lovely cat :) We are both documentary film makers and travel a lot. We love northern countries and have already been to Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Ireland.

  2. Martin and myself are both television people and have been working for the last 25 years quite happily.

  3. We love both the thrilling city life, going to museums and theaters and being outdoor: we love to walk, swim, cycle. We are dedicated art lovers.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

We live in Montmartre, between Pigalle and Abbesses tube stations. Probably one of the hipest of the city and still very easy-going. Plenty of cafés, restaurants, shops if you feel like it. The also tiny streets that feel like village life. Heart ot the Amelie Poulain movie, you will feel like in a dream.
We will provide a list of our favourite places, as well as where to buy the best baguette, cheese, meat around. You could spend a month in the area and not go to The Louvre or Notre Dame even if they are some of our beloved treasures.

Buzzy restaurants
Le bouillon de Pigalle, Padam padam, Seb'on, La bocca du lupo, Le Pantruche, etc
Cool bars
Maison Suquet
Cozy cafés

Retail therapy
Rue des Abbesses area, Rue des Martys are, the so-called SoPi (South of Pigalle) area
Bit of culture
Studio 28 cinema, one of the oldest and nicest in France, Le Trianon, la Cigale, le Théâtre de l'Atelier, etc
Walks in the park

Cycling and walking are the best options but then there are many swimming pools around.
Day tripping
Spend the day in the lovely garden of the Museum of Montmartre, touring all the groceries and delicatessen in Rue des Abbesses, hop on a bus and "go down" to city centre, have an incecream on Ile St Louis, wander in the Marais medieval streets, go to Beaubourg, GrandPalais, Orsay, discover streetart culture on the outskirts of Paris, discover all the hidden villages (Buttes Chaumont, Butte aux Cailles, Belleville, etc), spend the day walking along the Seine in between bookstands and boat cafés and so many more....
