About our home

We are looking to swap our two-bedroom apartment in Paris available from june 22 to the beginning of july 2009 for a NYC apt (East village, TRIBECA or nice central area). We are open to discuss the details... The apartement is 50 square meters, very bright, on the 4th floor with a small elevator. There's a bedroom with a queen size bed, a second bedroom with a small bed and a computer area, a nice living room with television and a small kitchen, like mostly all kitchens in the Paris-apartments. The bathroom is very small (sorry- but we got used to it....)with a shower only. Although the area is very lively, the apartement is very calm, the main bedroom is directed to a backyard and even the street in front of the house is not very crowded.

More about us

  1. We are Malu and Yohann, in our thirties, we know each other for nearly ten years. We are working at the French television and we love to travel and to meet new people. We think that swaping an apartment is a very nice way to discover foreign countries, but we have to admit that's the first time for us to try this. We hope to exchange our appartement with honest and respectful people like we are.

Where is it?

Our apartment is very close to the famous cemetery "Père Lachaise" where Jim Morrison is burried, it's not more than a 10minutes walk. There are also very nice bar's and restaurants in the area and you have the possibility to go shopping for grocerys until 10 pm. There are chinese and italien take- aways around the corner, which are open late at night, and a whole street with finest deli's and french specialitys. They are open even at sundays, which is not always the case in Paris. The area of "Gambetta" is very bobo - (bourgeois/bohème) there are a lots of artists around here and also people who work for television or cinema. You have a metro( subway) and bus-station at 3 minutes from the apartment, a nice big park "les buttes chaumont" 15 minutes away. The near by area of "Oberkampf" is known for partying, clubbing and having fun, but its not crowded with tourists like the area of "Bastille". It's a lot more for "real people"....
