Neighbourhood

This is the Eastern part of Paris. This district becomes trendier by the day. 5' walk to Gare de Lyon (train station), and to the Air France shuttle buses from Charles de Gaulle airport; 2' walk to the Metro station (main line nr 1, crossing Paris E/W), which takes you directly to Le Louvre, Concorde, Champs Elysées westwards and the Vincennes castle and woods eastwards. History at the door: 10' walk to Bastille one way, and 10' to Lafayette's tomb in the private cemetery of Picpus the other way. Also close to the Frank Gehry's building of the Paris Cinematheque (Movie Museum) in the Bercy Park, and the footbridge across the Seine river to the new National Library. Velib' (city bicycles) stations in the neighborhood. Elevated jogging trail nearby. One of the best open air food markets (daily) at one end of the street - marche d'Aligre-, countless cafes and bistrots. Ca c'est Paris!
