This is a very nice family apartment 100m from Notre Dame. It was entirely renewed 2 years ago, with a lot of love and care. It has a large living/dining-room open on a US-type kitchen, fully equipped (we love cooking and receiving friends). The apartment is on a corner, and has many windows, so it is very sunny. We have 2 bedrooms, one double bed, and a child room with a 190x90 bed which is fine for an adult, if you don't mind going up the ladder... The couch on in the living room opens into a double bed too, and you can use the mattress for an extra visitor. It is totally child proof, full of toys (for 3 year olds) and we can leave you a folding baby bed and a stroller too.
We are a young couple with a 3 year old boy. My husband is a sales director for a hotel near the Eiffel Tower and I am a PhD student in economics. We are going to NYC to plan a one year trip in 2008, as I am invited as a visiting scholar at Columbia University (by the way, if someone is interested for a one year exchange, don't hesitate to contact us!...). A flat near Columbia would be absolutely perfect, but we are also interested by other neighbourhoods in Manhattan, or Brooklyn, Queens or New Jersey, as long as it has good transport to Manhattan.
It is located right in the centre of Paris, 100m from Notre Dame, 50m from the Seine river, 10 minutes walk from the Luxembourg garden, 10 minutes walk from the Marais, direct bus to Bastille, etc. It is a family neighbourhood, with a nice market 3 times a week, and a fitness club with a swimming pool open until 12h at night. There are very good restaurants around, starting by the Argentine restaurant right below your feet. It has very good transports: metro, buses, RER B (which will bring you to both airports), RER C (which goes to the Orsay Museum and the Eiffel Tower).
