We're a couple living in a 3 rooms typical Parisian flat with old wooden floors, mouldings and fireplace, at 5th floor (with lift). The entire flat faces south, benefits from large windows and overlooks the beautiful Buttes Chaumont Park. We've entirely refurbished the place when we bought it one year ago and tried to make it welcoming and cozy. Summer time is the best time of the year to enjoy the flat with the long balcony overlooking a green sea of high plane trees that extends to the Buttes Chaumont park. We are 5 minutes by foot to Canal Saint Martin, and Bassin de La Villette. By tube, we are 10 min. from Montmartre, and 15 minutes to the heart of Paris.
We're a couple in our early thirties, both working in marketing. We absolutely love to travel, and, after living two years in London, have already done a full world trip in 2006 from South America to Oceania. We look forward to discover new places we've never been to (South Africa, Central America, Eastern Europe...), or rediscover places we already felt in love with (Spain, Italy, Brazil, Indonesia...). We're more than happy to enable you to discover Paris from a Parisian point of view while living in a typical and comfortable Parisian flat and having the option to make the most of a very lively and welcoming neighborhood that's ideal to relax once you've been strolling around in busy and hectic Paris.
The Buttes Chaumont park area is where all the best and newest places to go out in summer time have opened in the past two years. This is a trendy artistic laid back area. The next door Buttes Chaumont park welcomes the hippest cafe / restaurant in Paris, the "Rosa Bonheur", that stays open until after the park closes (around 10 pm in summer time). You will also find right inside the park two restaurants: the Italian "Pavillon Puebla" and the newly opened French "Pavillon du lac". About 5 minutes walk from the flat, the "Canal de l'Ourcq" neighborhood is where Parisians like to get together in summer time to play the "pétanque", have pique-nique and drinks along the borders of the canal.
