About our home

Our apartment is an untypical sunny duplex on the 2nd and last floor of a small building located in a quite, paved and flourished back yard. The flat is very mensardé (attic?), as it has 110 square meters on the ground, but only about 80 are exploitable (ie with sufficient height). It has been recently refurbished in modern style and is very cosy. There is a large living room with an open kitchen on the low floor, the three bedrooms (the kids' rooms have low ceilings) are upstairs, where there is also a TV/library-mezzanine.

More about us

  1. We are Sophie and Peter, 36 and 40 years old with two kids aged 6 and 3. Sophie is a scientist working in biomedical research in a hospital. Peter is a German national and works for an International Organisation in Paris. We travelled a lot before our kids were born and would like to show them different places now. WE WOULD LIKE TO GO TO GREECE IN AUGUST NEXT YEAR.

Neighbourhood

The apartment is ideally located on the left river bank near the Chinese quarter, opposite a large parc (with two large playgrounds) and in a street with many excellent and inexpensive restaurants. On three days per week, there are two typically Parisian markets in nearby streets. The Butte aux Cailles, a village-like, lively neighbourhood with many trendy bars and restaurants is only two minutes away. The closest metro station is Place d'Italie which gives access to three different metro lines and provides quick access to rue Mouffetard, Quartier Latin and the Louvre.
