About our home

Our holiday house is situated in a beautiful, quiet, picturesque village. The house sleeps 4 comfortably. We have two bedrooms, one with a double bed & the other with two single beds. There is also a sofa bed in the sitting room.
All rooms are light & sunny. We have a bathroom with bath & shower & a separate loo. In the sitting room there is a wood burning stove for cooler days. The sunny terrace in front of the kitchen is suitable for outdoor eating most of the year. Parking is easily found nearby. We also have the possiliity of two other one bedroom apartments, each with their own terrace. The house & apartments were newly renovated in 2006. We have three freindly cats who would need feeding once a day & water. We will happily look after your animals in exchange.

Neighbourhood

The house is situated in the centre of Sorede on a quiet street. It is an authentic typically French village.
There is a good range of shops including two bakeries open all year round. A small local market sets up on Tuesdays & Fridays. Several good restaurants can be found nearby. At the local 'cave' you can find an array of delicious local wines.
The local swimming pool is open in the summer. Tennis, childrens playground & helpful tourist office are a few minutes walk away.
The sandy mediterranean beaches are 10 minutes drive. Nearby, the stunning seaside village of Collioure is a must. Ceret has a large Saturday market overflowing with seasonal fruit & vegetables as well as a museam of modern art. Pepignan is an interesting bustling city to visit. Spain 20 minutes drive away is also very accessible. In winter sking is one & a half hours drive away. There is veiw of the snow-capped sacred mountain 'Le Canigou' from the house.
We average 300 days of sunshine a year, which is one of the reasons we moved here.
