About our home

Our house is in Pornichet on the west coast of France, 700m from the Beach (Atlantic Ocean). This is a pleasant house with a garden, and a wooden terrace. It's a nice place to enjoy the sea side and then being quiet in the garden. Our house is also near to supermarket (food) and shops to do shopping (St Nazaire). There are many things you can do: walking, swimming, kayak, paddle, visiting old town like Guérande, Le Croisic or la Baule, and we are 70 Kms from Nantes (45 min by car), the biggest town. We have bicycles, a kayak, a paddle, and many toys for children at home.

“We exchanged houses with Claudie and Cyrille in summer 2012 and would highly recommend an exchange with them. Their house is spacious and very comfortable, and ideal for families. Our children enjoyed all the toys in the playroom, and had great fun in the lovely garden! They live in a great area, within walking distance of a beautiful beach, and with easy access to the shops. They were extremely helpful when arranging the exchange and have kept in regular contact with us by email. We met with them again this summer and we would certainly recommend an exchange with this lovely family!”

“La maison de Cyrille et Claudie est très bien située dans un endroit calme mais proche des plages et du centre-ville. C’est une très belle région avec énormément de choses à découvrir. Claudie et Cyrille sont très sympathiques. Ils nous ont donné plein de bons conseils et ils nous ont laissé à disposition plein de choses dans leur maison (vélos, trottinettes...). Ils se sont bien occupé de notre maison de notre jardin et de notre chat! Bref, un bel échange réussi....”

More about us

We are 4 in the family, Cyrille (47) and Claudie (48) and our two daughters Jana (16) and Léna (14).
Cyrille works as grain silo manager and Claudie in trucks and maritime transport. We love spending time outside, swimming (see, lake and swimming-pool), playing on the beach and hiking or biking. We travel regularly. We exchanged with Norway (2010), Ireland (2012), French Alps (2014), Annecy (2018) and Corsica (2020), and that were great experiences, so we want to do it again, and to go anywhere in Europe, in United States/Canada or in Asia now, as our daughters are older .
We like sports a lot, travels, walking and hiking, drawing (Cyrille does watercolor painting) and music (Cyrille play ukkulele and Claudie play guitar). Jana plays Irish flute. We have also a piano in the house. We both speak English and German very well, and a little Spanish.
We have a cat called Mishka, but she is always outside, just give her food and water every day outside. We have also a hen, so you can take her egg each day. Just give her the rest of your food, she will appreciate it.
We will take care of your house as you will take care of ours.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

This is a quiet area close to many touristic beaches or others small creeks. There are possibilities for various activities: swimming in the sea, hiking, biking, walking, markets, fishing, boat rental, gardens with childrens area and of course be quiet on the beach of Pornichet or La Baule... The biggest city, Nantes is 70 km away. There is another one closer, St Nazaire with big shops which is 15 min from our house. There are other small typical cities (Guérande, Piriac S/mer, La Turballe, Le Croisic, Le Pouliguen, la Baule). It is really easy to find good place to visit or to do activities for youngs or adults.
La Baule is well known for tourism and for its summer activities in July or August and its big beach (very famous place); in summer there are a lot of tourists and many attractions days and nights (music festivals, sports, shows and activities for the children...)
In Nantes, you can do shopping, museums, festivals, see the Nantes machine with its elephant, and many restaurants.
In St Nazaire, there is the submarine base to visit with its submarine and the liners. And the famous Festival des Escales.
