Portiragnes is a lovely traditional French village that sits aside the Canal de Midi which leads down to the beautiful sandy Mediterranean beaches
you can walk or cycle along the canal, through a nature reserve to the beach . The village is 2km from the sea or 3km along the canal path
The village has a small selection of shops, bars and restaurants and there are many more at the beach. Beach bars sit on the beach between May - Sept. In the summer there are also guinguettes serving food and drink along the canal
The village and beach resort have a weekly market, selling local produce; oysters, cheese, fruit and veg
Surrounding towns and village are also worth a visit

Beautiful walks all around in nature reserve and on the beach

water sports on the beach all summer; tennis and petangue in the village. Golf near by. Aquatic center, locally for swimming as well as the sea
Day tripping
Beziers, Montpellier, Narbonne are great places to visit locally. Carcassonne and other amazing places within 40 min drive
