About our home

We have a clean, comfortable, cosy house. It has a private surrounding garden of 1500m2. You have a view of the Rhône-valley and at every time of the year you will find a place to sit in the sun on one off the 4 terraces around the house. We have a system of flour-heating but in the evening you can also make a fire in the stove in order to look at the flames. It's nice decorated and full of books written in French and Dutch (also film's on DvD). The kitchen is open to the living-room and at the mezzanine (with settee-bed) you find a comfortable place to listen to music or look at a film, we have one large bedroom with wash-stand. The main entrance is also dressing and has an extra bed, they can be separated by moving panels . At the floor-level, you also find the Lavatory with toilet, shower and wash-stand. We have a second toilet on one of the terraces. In the garden you also find a completely private second shower . We have 4 good bicycles so you can discover the nice landscape of the Provence. The house is not available for an exchange in july and august. Swimming-pool open from 01/06 to 01/10. Open to not simultaneous exchanges.

More about us

We are Ger and Ingrid. Ger (73) has retired but keeps working in the garden and continues to reconstruct the old farmhouse located next to the house. If it's not to hot, he leaves on a bycicle for a ride to Saint-Cécile or Vaison la Romaine. In the evening, he loves to read, look at a film or listen to the music of Leonard Cohen. Ingrid (50) is a professionnal painter and has her studio in the old farm-house situated at 20 m from the house, website: ingrid4art.com. She loves to listen to classical and jazz-music, walks in the country-site or to cycle with Ger. Together we love to spend our evening on one of the terraces or inside the house enjoying a nice meal (cooked with pleasure by Ingrid) with frends. The saterday morning is reservated to go to the "marché provençale" of Saint-Cécile-les-Vignes in order to buy local food and to meet frends on one of the terraces. Our origins are Dutch but we are already living and working in France for 20 years.
We prefer in july and august to receive our family and friends in Rochegude and are not open for offer to exchange in that period.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

A 5 min. walk takes you to the bakery-shop, post-office or the café/pup of our village. Your neighbors are French people working in the area. The house and its garden are completely private. One side of the garden continues into the woods, the other side of the garden has a view over the Rhône-Valley. At 250 m.of the house you find the hotel/restaurant "Château de Rochegude". Ideally located as a touring base on feet, bike or car. Rochegude itself is a quiet "wine"-village of the Côte du Rhône and situated at 10 km. from the highway Lyon-Marseille. Orange neighbors its rail-way station is at 15 km. Avignon is at 50 km. Mt. Ventoux, visible from the house is at 30 km.
