About our home

The house is a part of what was originally an L-shaped farmhouse (1934) with an inner courtyard and gardens. One wing (the old stables) has been transformed into living quarters for two families. The main house in which we live was also divided and is now part living quarters and a small business office. The three families share the courtyard area. The house is in sun light all day long. Basement: washer dryer. 1st floor: Kitchen + living room with double pull out sofabed and plasma TV. WC. 2nd floor: Bathroom, Bedroom (2 single beds), Dressing room, Office + computer, and Piano. 3rd floor: Atelier/work space, Master Bedroom. Occupied by artists and children the house has all the modern conveniences and eccentricities.

More about us

  1. The house is occupied by a family of two kids (Joseph 9 and Emile 13), Stephane their father works in the music industry and Gillian is an director and theater teacher at the American School of Paris(MS to 12th grade ) two outdoor cats and a few house plants. Everyone is multilingual; bilingual English/French. Although American by birth I left the country when I was four, living across Europe. Our house is usually occupied by friends in the summer as we often travel this year everyone seems settled in other corners of the world. I thought it a great age to show the boys the States. I look forward to hearing from you.

Where is it?

A step just outside the busy city of Paris (20min) into a very typical french town. The small town offers walks in the Empress Josephine's garden Le Bois Preau, along the banks of the Seine as well as local restaurants, shops and cafes. St Germain en Laye, Versailles are just down the road (20mins). Very central, easy access to highways for longer road trips: Giverney, the Loire Valley, Rouen, Normandy. There is also a local produce market Tuesday and Saturday mornings as well as two local health food stores and bio market (Sundays). Perfect for city lovers who enjoy coming back to a quiet and calm.
