Large, lovely 19th century house (over 200 sqm) which has been completely modernised and refurbished in 2019. In the heart of a family-friendly neighbourhood to the west of Paris called Saint-Cloud. This is an imperial city that was the residence of Napoleon and Napoleon III. It is famous for its park, which attracts Parisians in droves every weekend, as well as for its clean air, given that it is at the top of a hill overlooking Paris. 15 min drive to Chateau de Versailles, as well.
Master bedroom on the second floor has exposed beams, walk-in closet, spa-style bathroom with shower and ergonomic mini home office. First floor has three bedrooms and a bathroom with two sinks and a bath. Ground floor has open-plan living and dining area, which opens into a sleek kitchen surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the garden (dreamy for cosy breakfasts with morning light.)
Home has a lower ground floor guest suite option - i.e. two large rooms with double bed pull-out sofas with 17 cm thick mattresses (normal for sofabed is 10 or 11 cm thick), private garden entrance, and bathroom with shower. Door to this floor of the house can be closed and noise isolated - ideal for two families or for offering some of the guests additional privacy.
The house is directly next to the Musee des Avelines and the library, as well as a few minutes * by foot * to all the shops - three supermarkets (Naturalia, Monoprix, Leader Price), nice bakeries (Atelier des pains, Paul), the famous Parc de Saint Cloud with its country walks and playgrounds, and the train station (house is a 7 min walk to Gare de Saint-Cloud, where trains leave every ~10min). 15 mins drive to Paris or 20 mins by train to Arc de Triomphe/Champs Elysee, 7 min train to La Defense (connection line 1 metro). House a few meters from multiple bus connections. No need for a car to get everywhere easily! (Parking available if you do have a car and we are open to car swap - 7 seater Prius plus 2018)
Saint-Cloud is one of the wealthiest areas of Greater Paris and hosts the headquarters of large international businesses including Dassault Aviation, Lafarge Cement Division, Moody's Analytics and B. Braun, the pharmaceutical company.
Air-conditioning newly installed :) All brand-new appliances, including Bosch oven and microwave, Miele dishwasher and Miele washer and separate dryer. Two refrigerators and two freezers.
We are a French-American family.
We work at a business school and in finance and have four children.
We promise to take very good care of your home and treat it as if it were our own. We care a lot about the details and keep careful watch over our children at all times.
Saint-Cloud has a number of its own attractions, all within minutes from the house. Museums, the famous park, theatre, swimming pools, tennis clubs, a race track and quite well-known golf courses. By car, the neighbourhood is very close to Roland Garos stadium in Boulogne-Billancourt, for example, and is a quick drive to the 16th and 17th arrondissments, as well as Neuilly and Levallois-Perret. Bus and train connections are frequent and fast, which is one of the reasons Saint-Cloud is perhaps the priciest Parisian suburb.
