About our home

Our home is a nice and simple house located in what we call in France a “residence”, i.e. 15 to 20 similar houses like ours, in a small and quiet neighbourhood of a small suburban town of Paris (40km).
We have a terrace and nice garden furniture which will make you enjoy noon or evening barbecues, 3 rooms housing up to 6 persons, one Living room with Satellite TV, Broadband Wifi Internet access, and all usual necessary house apparels.
The residence is quiet and you can let the children play around safely, alone or with the other kids living in the same street (usually between 3 and 15 of age).

Where is it?

You’re 5 minutes away from the Seine River where you can do waterskiing and swimming! (yes it is possible and safe because it is upstream Paris miles before the Seine goes through the city), and we are 10 minutes away from the famous forest of Fontainebleau which is really big (for French standards) and renowned for its vast climbing offer.
There are a couple of nice villages/towns around like Fontainebleau and Barbizon (10 min each) charming painter village, but the most interesting place to visit will of course be…Paris.
It will take you about 30 minutes to drive into town by car (A6 Highway) and 45 minutes by train from Ponthierry but only 13 min from Melun.
There are millions of things to do in this incredible city, you’ll find hundreds of museums, famous buildings and sightseeing opportunities, but also irresistible shopping possibilities, fancy bars, restaurants and “cafés”, cultural events, animated parks, etc. for adults and kids! Night and day! Anytime of the year is good, but summer is probably best because you won’t suffer too much of traffic Jams…and will experience Paris Plage (with real beach sand, concerts, restaurants, bars, games for kids, pools, etc..)
Furthermore, we are 40 min away from Versailles and its famous castle, and pretty much the. same from Disneyland. You can also go to the Normandy (Deauville casinos and the sea !) or the Touraine area with most of the best Renaissance Castles since both are 3 hours drive.
