Our week-end home is a cozy traditional yet comfortable house on 3.5 private acres in inland Normandy. Surrounded by woods, fields, a garden, and a pond you will find an atmosphere of tranquility and seclusion. The park provides space for games, relaxing, and dining. Though secluded you will be located just 90 miles (1 hour 1/2) from Paris.
Around the house: You will be surrounded by dirt roads for walking, biking, and running. Our property is located within a small hamlet inhabited by people with a great sense of hospitality.
The main house has 3 bedrooms. The master (main floor) has a queen size bed. This room has its own bathroom. Upstairs, there are two other bedrooms (one with a single bed, the other with two singles beds) which share a bathroom. There are two living rooms, one with a fireplace and comfortable coaches, the other is located in a veranda and has a gorgeous view on the park and the surrounding fields. This room also has a TV. Upstairs there is a lounge area with a larger TV and a WII console. The downstairs has a fully equipped kitchen with all necessary appliances (including a Dolce Gusto espresso machine) and a dining room with a beautiful view on the park.
The guest house has two bedrooms, one with a queen size bed, the other with twin beds. Both share a bathroom.
Alongside the main house, there is a large 600 sq ft. playroom, equipped with coaches, table football, a lounge bar and a small bathroom.
Outside there are tables for dining, a hammock and a ping-pong table. There are 7 bicycles for all age ranges. You can hike into the woods from the back yard where we have regularly seen and heard deers. Horsing is within 10 minutes drive.
We are a married couple with 4 children - 3 of them living with us. We work in the marketing/communication business and are both heading up operations in Paris. Home exchanging is new to us but we have friends who have practiced this way of travelling for the past 15 years and we thought it'd be a good idea to give it a try, so there we are!
This house is our week-end house and we do love it, so needless to say we would be totally respectful of other's homes..
We are located within 10 minutes of Breteuil-sur-Iton, a traditional Normandy town, and within 20 minutes of Verneuil sur Avre, an even more beautiful town with glorious places to visit. Both towns have supermarket but a small yet convenient grocery stores is located within just 5 minutes. A bit further away (45 minutes by car), there is the famous Perche region with many scenic hills and a Manors’ road. The D-Day beaches are within 1 hour ½ driving as well as the famous Normandy coastline (Deauville, Honfleur, etc…) – perfect for a day trip.
