About our home

The cottage is our 2nd home and is comfortable clean and spacious. The large salon has two leather sofas, dining area, and doors leading directly onto the veranda. The large main bedroom is en-suite with French doors leading directly into the garden which is on two terraces, one with the small pool, and the other has an ancient ruin with b.b.q. area. The views from the house and gardens are spectacular looking across the valley to an historical chateau/fort.

More about us

  1. We are an English early retired couple living in France for the last 8 years with our two dogs. Having spent working lives travelling extensively to faraway places we have chosen to settle down in this beautiful part of SW France which we adore but would now like to enjoy holidays in surrounding countries and other parts of France. The cottage is our second home and normally is let out through the summer. We would only consider an exchange where we can bring our two dogs with us, as they are part of our family. We are looking for a one week swap non simultaneous to our chosen destinations. We are looking for a swap either to the northern area of Italy, North East or West part of Spain or somewhere we haven't visited in France. We would like to travel April/May 2010 - our cottage is available mid September 2009 to early October 2009 or April/May 2010 and from mid September to mid October 2010. However if you require other dates Not July or August, we may be able to arrange. If your property is available on other dates, please contact us as we could review. We have had two excellent swaps and the people who came to our cottage loved it so much they are coming again in a couple of years - this time as friends. )

Where is it?

The cottage is situated 10 kilometres from Sarlat and within a few minutes drive of most of the well known sites this region is famous for. Numerous fine restaurants are nearby. We are situated in a hamlet on the edge of the ancient village of Calviac en Perigord with the Dordogne river running through it. The immediate area is perfect for walking or cycling.
