About our home

Our home is a spacious and comfortable old stone house on the countryside. It has been completely restored by local macons a few years ago. Respecting the ancient style, the house offers the very modern comfort of a new house. There is a small guesthouse right behind the main house and it is part of the exchange, if you like. The library, the master bedroom and the kitchen open to the terrace overlooking the river. The view from the house opens to the Gardon river, the park, the flower garden and the vegetable garden with its fruit trees. The house is secure. We are part of a group of 4 houses (it is called a « hameau » in french). The neighbors are close but invisible.

More about us

  1. We are retired people. Anneli (Finnish) is a doctor, specialist in the treatment of pain; Robert (Canadian) was a professor at the Faculty of Business Administration at the University of Quebec. We enjoy very much traveling in foreign countries, meeting people, visiting historical sites, and learning from other cultures. We like trekking and nature. Most of all, we enjoy a peaceful and calm environment.

Where is it?

At the foot of the Cevennes mountains, in the Region of Languedoc Roussillon, our environnement is green, composed of small villages, surrounded by wineyards, and close to towns at 5 and 7 kilometers where you have all the stores, good restaurants, etc. The Mediterranean sea is at only 1 hour from our house. The environment is typical of Southern France where you find enjoying life, good food and wine, and historical sites . If you like to travel, you may reach Nice (3 hours) Marseille (1 1/2 hours), Barcelone in Spain (3 hours), and Genève (3 hours). Paris is at 3 hours by the TGV train.
