About our home

Our home is comfortable, clean, and cosy. It has a middle size kitchen with adjoining dining room and 2 living rooms. One of them overlooks the backyard which hosts several fruit trees and flowers. We often have lunch or dinner there as it is cool in the summer. The ground floor is equipped with 3 old style fire places and a wooden floor. The 1st floor has 2 bedrooms (1 double bed + 1 single bed) and 1 office. The office offers a broad band Internet. The inside furniture is a mix of old style and novelties.

More about us

  1. My wife is an assistant supervisor in a Junior High School and I work in trading with China. My company is based in Brussels and I work partly in Belgium and partly at home. We have 1 little boy, aged 3 and a dog. We enjoy very much travelling but have not yet taken part in a house exchange. We are of course a little bit anxious but also very excited to take part in this experience. Most of our friends find our house very cosy and warm. The backyard is really a charming place, in particular from may to september with its many colorful trees and flowers.

Where is it?

One leaves the town within 3 minutes by car to find walking or hiking path. The "Marne" river is very near and we often go along for a walk. 2 nautic centers with various activities (water sking, sailing, swimming, riding ...) are both at about 15 minutes by car. Our town is small (3000 inhabitants) but a larger city of about 20.000 inhanbitants offering many shops, a movie theater, a theater, swimming pool, ... is located 15 minutes away at walking distance or 3 minutes by bus or by car). Our house is located at 10 minutes walking distance to the train station to Paris which can then be reached in 25 minutes. The train goes there every half hour 20 hours / Day (from 5 AM to 1 AM) One can also drive to Paris in about 30 to 40 minutes (depending on traffic). Located East of Paris, the house is also approximately 15 kms away from "Disneyland Paris". If you are interested in French culture, you may also want to visit the many castles located within 25 min to 1 hours drive, north and south of our town. The famous Castle of "Vaux le Vicomte" and his beautiful gardens created by "Le Notre" is approx 35 kms south of our place. Should you wish to fly to Paris, we could consider providing one car to you.
