About our home

Our home is a nice spacious, comfortable place with a beautiful courtyard and garden in the town of Thouars. It is a completely furnished house with comfy sofas and a great kitchen. We have 4 bedrooms, one of them is used as an art studio while we are here but there is a bed. It has nice big french windows and the courtyard has a nice table and chairs. Pets are certainly welcome too, since we have a little dog!

More about us

There are two of us; I'm Janette and I live with my daughter, Cecily (age 14). I am an artist, I do oil paintings of landscapes, portraits, still lives and I also work on comission! We both love traveling and trying new things. We are looking to do a swap for a whole year in either Ireland, Scotland or England (we want to be close to the coast too) so we are a bit nervous that nobody will want to swap for a year but we arent sure what year (2007/2008 or 2008/2009). We might try it for a couple weeks first on vacation just because we're new to house exchanges. Please tell us if you're interested! We also have a small dog, but she doesn't shed;
just looks cute.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

Thouars is the neighborhood, it's relatively small and is surounded by countryside but it is big enough to go out for a nice diner and there is a cinema too. Every wednesday and friday there is a market in the town square wich is great, you can often get really fresh/good food there. Thouars is on a rive aswell, and the view at the end of our street is georgious! There is also a chateau that is a school but they still do tours and a beautiful old church a block away! There are lots of cute shops and every one is friendly and tries their best to speak English to you if you dont speak French very well.
