More about us

  1. My wife and I are 40yrs old, we have four lovely daughters Charlotte 12 Lucy 10 and twins Harriet and Eloise 6. We are a professional family. The villa is our second home, which we have holidayed in for the last 4 years and love the area. It would be great see other places and for the girls to visit different countries, so this exchange is a perfect opportunity to do so.

Neighbourhood

Nestling between the mountains and the sea and sharing a border with Spain, this southern most tip of France has a distinctively Mediterranean flavour.
The locals consider themselves to be Catalan first and French second and whilst they speak Catalan to each other they switch effortlessly to French when necessary. The house is in a typical stone French village with its church chiming on the hour. There are many superb walks on the doorstep and brilliant views.Thuir town is 10 mins away with its weekly market shops, boutiques and restaurants. Here you will find a large supervised outdoor swimming pool, gymnasium and horse riding aswells as many wine caves The coast is 35mins away with numerous beaches to suit everyones taste, from unspoilt, family aqualand, to Colliore with its castle on the beach, fishing cottages and small cobbled streets. You can drive or catch Le Petit Jaune Train up the mountain to the ski/mountain resorts on the way stop at fortified villages and hot thermal baths, breathtaking scenery. If you are into history visit Corbieres the home to the Cathar castles. Lots to see and do in this area of France, right on the border of Spain also a trip to Barcelona shouldnt be missed.
