More about us

  1. We are both retired and left England two years ago to live in France, mainly because of our love of good food wine and of course the climate. We had a hospitality exchange before with an Italian family and in America they were a great success, we went to places and done things we would have never done if on our own. We enjoy meeting people and entertaining, therefore we would prefer to do the same again. We are both animal lovers and have two cats which live outside and can be tended by neighbours We are open to any suggestions so just give us a try.We are open to hospitality exchanges.

During July and August do not miss Laparade on Tuesday evenings they have a very special night. Dotted around the village square are stalls where you can buy many different foods all to eat. There’s a butcher where you can choose your meat they then cook it. perhaps you fancy chicken and chips or pancakes they cook it all for you. There’s bread, pick your own cheese. There’s a bar or just buy a bottle of wine it only costs 4 Euros. Find a table, enjoy good food with fantastic views of the Lot valley. There is a group playing good music which you can dance to, sometimes entertainment for the children. A great night for all the family. It starts about 7 o’clock. Take a bottle of water with you, even take some beers Casteljaloux approx 45 minutes away has a large lake with many amenities. It has a sandy beach area where the chidren can swim. Hire a bike, hire a pedalo or boat, ride the flume or just sunbathe. There a lakeside restaurant. Or has most people do take a picnic. Opposite is a 18 hole golf course. Some 2 hours away lies the great city of Bordeaux and a little further on is the fine seaside resort of Arcachon. It has a wonderful sandy beach, lots of restaurants right on the beach front and many fine shop for the shopolics. This is where the French spends there holidays. Just before the town itself Dune du Pyla is a massive sand dune some 300ft high. Whilst in Archachon you can take a boat trip around the estuary visit the bird islandor visit cap ferrat.Sarlatis some 2-5 hours away but well worth a visit we consider it one of the finest mediaval towns in all of France also close by is two great castles one french one english where the hundred year war was fought.
