About our home

Our home is comfortable, clean, and spacious. the kitchen has an adjoining dining room. There is a small back yard to eat on nice, sunny days. We have five bedrooms, three with one single bed each and two with a double/queen bed each. There is a living room, dining room and a small study. Patrick's office is so full of books there is little place to walk! We also have several music instruments because our girls take music lessons at the national conservatory and spend much of their time singing or listening to music! We have no problem with exchaning cars, we have a seven-seater Chrysler voyageur (a standard of course!).

More about us

  1. We are Deborah and Patrick, a married couple with three teenage daughters (11, 13 & 17). Patrick is a professor-researcher working at the Sorbonne university in Paris and I work in a large pharmaceutical company in a small city near Tours. We like to travel and discover new places, we are very easy going, the girls are very respectful and happy to experience new things. We are all music lovers! Due to severe allergies to cats we cannot exchange homes with cat owners. Sorry!

Where is it?

We are in the center of Tours within walking distance to the donwtown area. We have museums nearby and the 11th century cathedral is part of our neighbourhood. There is a chateau in Tours which often hosts exhibitions. There are shops, parks, art galleries and of course we are very close to the Loire River which is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. In our region, we have several medieval, renaissance castles, (some of the most known are Chenonceau, Chambord, Cheverny...the list is quite long!). These places can be reached by car or bus tours. The train station is a 10-min walk from the house. Paris is 250km from Tours (The fast train "TGV" will take you there in 50 min., by car it's a 3 hr. ride). There is an amusement park "Futuroscope" in Poitiers and that's an hour from here by car. Lastly there are several vineyards/wine makers where you can have wine-tasting sessions.
