Cathy & Gilles”
“I definitely recommend a swap with Martine and Lionel. We had a very pleasant week end in their lovely, quiet (and very well decorated!) house in March 2014. The communication was very easy and allows us to very well prepare our stay. They did their best to make our stay comfortable as they kindly let us their car and thousands of information on the house and surroundings (where to drink a good glass of wine, best restaurants, supermarkets, sport activities, touristic places to visit etc). It is very well situated for short trips to very beautiful and varying places. You are able to make one day trip to Paris, and all the most beautiful and famous castles in France! Martine, Lionel and Lena are very kind, helpful and trustful people. You will not regret!”
A recommander absolument.”
“We had an amazing time at Martine and Lionel\' house. It is a very confortable and charming house. It is a perfect base to explore the Loire Valley region with its lovely chateaus and wineries. It was a great pleasure to exchange homes with Martine and Lionel and a highly recommend their place.”
“Just returned from the wonderful Loire et Cher and from the beautiful country house (longette) of Martine, Lionel and Lena. They came to our apartment last december 2012 for the New Year's Eve, and they were very nice, friendly and left our apartment in perfect conditions! Finally we could organize our trip to their house, "les coupellieres", next to the village of Sasnieres. An astonishing full immersion in the nature of the Loire. You can easily reach by car all the wonderful cities and castles of the region: Tours, Blois, Amboise, Châteaudun, Chartres, Chambord..........and by TGV in 42 minutes you are in PARIS, But around the house there are many wonderful villages to visit, far from the flood of tourists with wonderful surprises. Martine and Lionel have welcomed us as real friends, gave us lot of information and advices and made us feel like at home. The house has a wonderful garden and, inside, you have all the modern things you need: a very ancient and lovely house outside and extremely comfortable inside! They also invited us for a lunch in the very near beautiful city of Vendôme, where we spent a very nice time together. SO THANKS FOR ALL AND WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS FAMILY AND THEIR HOME!”
“Our swap with Martine and Lionel was excellent. Their house was comfortable and immaculate. We both are dog owners and so their dog, Aby, went to our house and our dog came with us. Both were very well behaved and their location was excellent for walking our dog, with footpaths and woodland around the house. When we returned to our house we found it just as immaculate. There was no sign that a dog had been in the house or the garden, she must be a very well behaved dog and Martine and Lionel are very responsible dog owners. I would say to anyone thinking of swapping houses with them that they do not need to worry about having Aby in their house. Sally Vickers.”
“We spent a wonderful week in the home of Martine and Lionel. The situation was great for visiting the Chateaux of the Loire valley and the countryside of Loir et Cher. Martine and Lionel's house was very clean and comfortable and we arrived to find some lovely welcoming gifts of local produce. When we arrived back at our own house we found it absolutely immaculate, it was hard to imagine that anyone had used it.”
“We just spent a fantastic two week holiday in the Loire Valley at Martine's house. The planning of the holiday was easy, she provided a lot of useful information about the area already. The house was gorgeous: a farm house that is completely renovated inside. You can also see that Martine and her family have a great taste, the place looks fantastic. They left great directions for the house and lots of leaflets and maps for the area. There were even personal notes about restaurant recommendations and advices. They even organised child seats in their car for us so we could drive around every day. The house has a large beautiful garden with lots of toys for our children. It is very quiet wich was brilliant after Bangkok. I can highly recommend Martine's house for an exchange. George Szabo”
“From the moment we arrived in the Loire, Marine and Lionel, our hosts, when above and beyond to make our stay stress-free. They picked us up at the train station for one thing, and we hit it off immediately. The next day, they took us to rent a car. And since the markets were closed the day of our arrival, Martine even left a lovely potato gratin in the refrigerator (homemade!) for our dinner. Not only that, but they arranged a party for us in a local "cave dwelling" with friends--what a memorable experience. My husband and I feel as if we've made some new friends, not to mention discovered a new part of France. Their home is lovely--spacious, colorful with incredible outdoor space and just a few kilometers from incredibly charming villages, gardens and good restaurants. You definitely will need a car to explore the Loire, but we also loved staying close to "home," having a picnic on the back patio and watching the birds. You will get a truly authentic experience in this immaculate, beautiful, unique home. We can't wait to repay their hospitality when they come to NYC in August.”
“We are just coming back from France - and had a wonderful time in the home of Martine and Lionel in Troo. The house is very charming, authentic. And the location on the river very peaceful. We enjoyed taking advantage of Lionels canoe and of course of visiting the castles, most of them can be reached within an hour. Lionel was so kind to borrow his car - we felt very local. Troo is a small, special place with its caves and friendly people. Our kids were very impressed with the baguette machine... Martine and Lionel were the entire time very supportive and reactive, communication was always easy. It was a pleasure. ”
“We had the pleasure of exchanging with Martine and Lionel summer of 2016. Sasnières and the surrounding area is so wonderful and Martine and Lionel provided us with extended tips with things to do. We went swimming in nature, had wonderful dinners and visited some wine chateau\'s. Nearby village Montoire-sur-le-Loire is lively and wonderful with it\'s festival and fair, nice food markets and brocante. The weather was perfect, warm but with a light and cool breeze. Martine and Lionel took great care of our house and garden and when we came back everything was the same as we left it. Their house was filled with souvenirs and photo\'s from their travels around the world, and gave a pleasing atmosphere. We\'d love to exchange again some day.”
“We have just come back from a lovely weekend in Martine and Lionel's farmhouse. The erstwhile barn is a comfortable and beautifully decorated house with many of the original features. The setting is wonderful, wood and farmland all around. You can walk straight into the woods from the house, we spent an afternoon exploring the surroundings and going to nearby picturesque Lavardin on foot. Good restaurants all around, lots and lots to see and to do. Martine and Lionel are great hosts, they picked us up from the station and had a meal ready for us. Our house was absolutely spotless when we got back and our cat was more relaxed than ever. We highly recommend this exchange !”
“From April 25 till May 2nd 2014 we stayed in this really cozy country house of Lionel and Martine. If you live in the city, like us, nothing better than to stay in the middle of nowhere for now and than. But.. with many things to see and do in the neighbourhood, otherwise we get bored :-). Well, his exchange had it all. The house is big enough for 5 people, the kitchen and bathroom are perfect and the garden is the best, big, quiet, green and with a very relax terrace. And the area has a lot to offer: castles, nice walks, beautiful cities, cycling along the Loire etc. And last but not least: Martine and Lionel are really nice people who made us feel very welcome and where easy to communicate with. We truly recommend this house!”
“The best part of my summer holidays was my home exchange with Martina and Lionel.Communication went smoothly. When we arrived, we found nice things to eat and their daugter prepared a casserole for us for the first evening. We felt very welcome. Their house is a very nice old farm, adjusted to the comfort needs of our time in a romantic way with respecting the original details. The garden is a joy: places with sunshine or shade, just what you want. The farm is situated in the middle of the fields, so you can start your hike through the fields with splendid views right away to all kind of nice villages close by or through the woods. It was a surprise to discover the cave houses(Troglodites) that are everywhere in the neighborhood. The Loire Castles reachable by car. It was only there that we noticed it was the tourist season! So if you are looking for silence and beautiful landscapes and old villages and history close to the Loire castles this is a perfect place. This lovely family left our house as clean as if nobody has been there. I can highly recommend them to have an exchange with!”

Information about our village TROO :
Troo is one of the prettiest villages and unusual in France. Its site and its very special layout: staggered terraces, caves, charming paths, stairs everywhere.
No real streets, no center, it is the mystery that makes you want to go to his discovery.
First name: we find the first mention in the eleventh century. The most common interpretation is "trou", an allusion to dig caves that hill. Troo is the English spelling (trôo was occupied by the English Plantagenet time) or Angevin old.
Today, many cave dwellings are restored and became beautiful houses; you can visit.
Tours Loire Valley airport is 1 hour driving, Ryan Air flights to London, Marrakech, Corsica ..
