About our home
I have two small two bedroom cottages, (Each cottage is 150 points but 250 points if you take both together). They are the gate houses of a small chateau in a very pretty village in Normandy. Take the ferry from Portsmouth to Cherbourg and the houses are just twenty minutes from the ferry port in Cherbourg.
The houses are surrounded by their own little stream which wraps around the property. Lovely to sit out with a glass of wine, cheese and listen to the water!
They are close to the D-Day beaches with plenty of history and museums. (Hence the photo of American GIs who come over from the USA every year on 06 June. The beautiful, old town of Bayeux with the Bayeux Tapestry is accessible for a day trip as are Day trips to Mount St Michel, Honfleur, Deauville all very enjoyable. The village is only 10km from lovely beaches for swimming, the Marina at St Vaast-La-Hougue and there are plenty of interesting chateaux to explore in the area.
