About our home

This is our vacation home in the Provence. It is a comfortable 3 bedroom villa for up to 6 persons with vast terraces, a stunning infinity swimming pool and a wonderful garden perched on a ¾ acre hillside below the ramparts of a historic village close to Vaison la Romaine. The property is quiet and very secluded yet you can walk to the village in 5 min. to get your baguette or shop for groceries. The 2580 sq ft house was extensively renovated in 2001. The vine covered walls and luscious garden make it virtually disappear in the summertime.

More about us

  1. My wife and I are in our mid 50s and we are now fortunate enough to work as we please (nearly). On top of our to do list is to travel to all those wonderful places we always wanted to visit. The best time for us to travel is from October - April
We can do non-simultaneous home exchanges.

Where is it?

Our village with its ancient Knights Templar walls is 15km west of Vaison-la-Romaine right in the heart of the Cotes du Rhone wine region. The views to Mt. Ventoux, the Dentelles de Montmirail and Luberon mountains are outstanding.
This is a great location for outdoor activities, especially hiking, biking and horseback riding. The GR4 hiking trail runs along our property. You can walk to many nearby perched villages and the Dentelles de Montmirail nature reserve. Biking is great in May/June and September/October when the temperature is very agreeable. Many small country roads in this area. You find horseback riding centers in Cairanne and other villages nearby.
You are within 15-20 minutes drive of major historic sights, such as Avignon (Palais des Papes) , Vaison la Romaine (Roman ruins) , Orange (Roman Amphitheater and Arc du Triomph) as well as Châteauneuf du Pape, Gigondas, Seguret and Rasteau - all famous wine villages. Aix en Provence, Arles and the Pont du Gard are 1 hour drive away.
Enjoy the wonderful weekly Provencal markets. Vaison la Romaine (each Tuesday) and Carpentras (each Friday) probably have the best weekly markets in France. L'Isle sur la Sorgue (20min. drive from our house) is the third most important antique center in Europe after London and Paris.
Above all enjoy "la plus belle vie en Provence". You have a great choice of restaurants nearby - from country cuisine to Michelin star gourmet eateries.
