About our home

Our apartment was built in 2007 and, although modern, it has lots of character and is in a great position. The apartment has four bedrooms over two floors; 1 x double bed, 2 x 2 single beds, and 1 x single bed. There is also a large sofa in the living room that has two single mattresses and which forms a comfortable extra double bed. There is a bathroom on each floor. Both have showers and the lower bathroom also has a bath. The living room, kitchenette and dining area are open plan. The apartment is on 2 floors and has two long balconies, each with a view across to the hills and mountains beyond. There is a ski locker on the ground floor of the apartment block.

We chose the apartment because we had been taking our children skiing for many years and wanted to have a place that we could go to more regularly and get to know well. Valloire is a small family-friendly resort. One of the great things about the apartment is that all amenities are close by. The ski slopes are just 100m from the back door and the closest chair lift is only a short ski run away. For those of you needing ski equipment, there is a ski hire shop 200m away from the apartment.

The ski bus also stops near the apartment and gives you the option to access the slopes from other lifts around the resort. Alternatively, you can use it after a hard day's skiing for a quick ride to the numerous cafes, bars, and restaurants in the heart of the village.

The centre of Valloire is within walking distance and in the summer it's pleasant to walk there through the pine trees by the bank of the river. In both winter and summer, there are many activities, many of which can be booked through the local tourist centre in the village. If you want to travel outside Valloire, it's in an enviable location. Not only is it close to the Italian border and a short drive from Turin but also the south coast of France is within easy reach. Valloire is truly a lovely and friendly place and a traditional alpine village where the local people work and live.

There is more information on the Valloire website at www.valloire.net. It's also possible to order your ski passes in advance from the site.
