About our home

The main floor of our home is open concept with a large kitchen, adjoining dining room and living room. There is also the guest room and a complete bathroom. The entire first floor has hardwood floors. The patio (with BBQ) is accessed through the living room. There is a large sand play area, swing set, wood deck as well as stone patio (with garden furniture) in the garden. We have several fruit trees (apple, cherries, pears). Upstairs are four bedrooms and a bathroom plus separate toilet. We have a garage and a carport. There are several bicycles, skate boards and skooters available. Our home is tidy and well kept -- it isn't cluttered.

More about us

We are a family of five. Manfred (works with computers) is German, Susan (teaches) is Canadian and our three children (24, 14 and 13) are still in school. We tend to travel within Europe (bike trips are what we like best). Manfred is allergic to cats so we couldn't do an exchange where cats live in the house.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

Our very small town is typical of the German countryside. Down the road is a small shop where you can buy fresh bread and milk. We have a Portugese Restaurant and a pub. You'll hear the church bells ringing regularly throughout the day. The nearby town of Calw offers restaurants, movies and shopping. We are close (35 min. drive) to the city of Stuttgart with shopping, theatre, musicals and night-life. Day trips to France, Switzerland or Austria are possible from here.
