“We spent 7 days in Berlin in August 2010, and we enjoyed both the beautiful flat and the charming neighbourhood (located close to transports & lots of cosy cafés & restaurants). Patrick & Basti are very respectful, so we highly recommand swaping with them if you want to discover the exciting city of Berlin ! Emilie & Nico”
Patrick's reviewsAs a host (2)
“Patrick and Bastian’s spacious and bright apartment is in a charming part of Berlin, close to excellent transport links to the city but with an interesting community feel to it. There are good local shops and restaurants and the street is peaceful. The apartment itself is modern and stylish, warm and sunny. Patrick and Bastian have many lovely things and are understandably house proud. Patrick communicated promptly and helpfully throughout the process and they left our apartment just as we had left it. This was a very successful exchange, thank you Patrick and a Bastian. ”
Where is it?
The apartment is located in the north-east of Berlin, directly in the trendy PRENZLAUER BERG neighborhood (also called by its shortcut: Prenzl.berg), arguably the city's most beautiful, vibrant and exciting area (right next to MITTE and FRIEDRICHSHAIN). While our street is wonderfully calm and family-friendly, you will find cute little cafés and excellent restaurants, trendy nightclubs and cool shopping locations, museums and movie theaters, parks and sports fields, as well as everything from a pharmacy to the post office just around the corner within a couple of minutes walking distance.
Just FYI: the map shown here is not really exact. Our apartment is 10 minutes (to walk) down the road from what is shown here.
Young families, students, and professionals from the media and entertainment industry make up a large part of the neighborhood's young, aspiring, and gay-friendly population, while it is at the same time very international. You can be sure to run into people from all over the world in Prenzlauer Berg - and, of course, find everything from Russian specialty stores to finest Italian trattorias or French bakerys to all sorts of Asian shops and restaurants as well as movies from the US and music from South America.
Famous Prenzlauer Berg-areas such as the well-known Kollwitzplatz or the Helmholzplatz, the popular boulevard Kastanienallee (also called 'casting alley'), or the very busy Mauerpark (especially on the weekends with Berlins largest weekly flea market with thousands of visitors) are only a stone's throw away.
But the rest of Berlin's exciting places are not far away either: there are various metro-, train-, underground-, streetcar- and bus-stations within a five to ten minutes walk, connecting you to Berlin's two airports, sights, and all other places of interest.
You can even be in Hamburg, Poland, Prague (Czech Republic), or at the Baltic sea (Germany's beautiful seacoast in the north-east) within just a little train ride.
We'll have an entire folder with all the necessary information available upon your arrival.
