About our home

The apartment is located in a big house, on the 2nd floor. It is a beautiful classic berlin apartment, wooden floor, high ceilings with stucco, big doors connection the different rooms. The 2 rooms (bedroom and living room), hallway, kitchen and bathroom are all very spacious. The kitchen is facing the beautiful backyard, the two rooms are towards the street. Still it is very quiet, so perfect for sleeping.

The big bed is perfect for two people or also with a baby, which we do right now. We have an extra baby bed that can be used.
The living room has a big and comfortable sofa which turns into a very big bed. That bed fits two people. Also in the room is a soundsystem, playing CDs, LPs and MP3s (a cable connects to a computer or phone). If you feel comfortable with it you can also play our records.

The two rooms are connected with a big door, which can be closed as well. The whole apartment is very open and airy, but can also be divided and gets very cozy.

Wifi is available in the entire apartment.

The balcony of course can be used as well, its facing the beautiful old Berlin street.

The kitchen is perfectly equipped with everything you need, you are welcome to use all of it. The table pulls out and fits 10 people. Also in the kitchen is a stereosystem.

The bathroom has a toilet, sink, washing mashine and a shower that is combined with a bathtub.

We also have bikes and a car, of which we would need to discuss the use individually.
We have very friendly neighbours, mostly families, and the the community relies on a mutual respect.

More about us

  1. We are a young family, with a 6 months old son.
My partner is from Chicago and i was born in this area of Berlin. Ben works as a sound/content manager and i am an event manager, so we very much like living in an urban environment with lots of cultural events and interesting people. But from time to time we enjoy getting out of the city to explore different environments, vibes, maybe even nature :-)
We would love to stay at a nice cozy place in the fall since we are on maternity leave anyways.
Curious to see what else is out there we are open to different settings of accommodation, as long as they are comfortable and life- embracing.

Where is it?

The apartment reflects the style of the neighborhood, a very old but very well restored area in Kreuzberg, where many films have been shot. The people living here are very diverse, families, students, old Kreuzberg-residents...

The apartment is located in the heart of Kreuzberg 61 at the border to Tempelhof and Schöneberg.
Nearby is the huge, gorgeous Tempelhofer Feld, the former airport (where the planes in the Berlin Airlift landed) that's now a big open green space for the public.
There are many cafes, bars especially on the Bergmannstr. and a big market hall, one of the few in berlin.
Saturdays a flea market takes place next to the market hall, just a 5 min. walk down the hill. On saturdays you can find a small, beautiful organic food market on Chamissoplatz, just 5 min. from the apartment.

Victoria Park and its beautiful view over Berlin is also a short walk away, past the classic Berlin style buildings and streets in the area. If you stay here over New Years the memorial on top of the hill Viktoriapark is the perfect location to light some fireworks and look at the sky of Berlin full of lights.

There are two U-Bahn stations (Gneisenaustr. on the U7 and Platz der Luftbrücke on U6) a few blocks away, as well as a few bus stops that make it easy and fast to get around the city.
