About our home

The apartment we`d like to offer is about 54 sqm (581 sq ft), has a balcony and is situated in the center of West Berlin. It`s our second home. Because we have just moved in together the furniture in the living room will be on a minimum level. What stays in that room is: a sofa, a dinner table with some chairs, a desk and a cable tv with dvd player. Except for a microwave the kitchen is fully equiped...if you need one very much we would put the microwave of our other flat in for you. There`s also a washing machine (no dryer, in Germany it is quite normal to use a clotheshorse), a bed which is big enough for two, a closet and a commode/dresser/bureau/chest of drawers (we could not figure out what the right english word is :) ...it`s something you put your clothes in). The bathroom is tiled and has a small bathtub. The house the appartment is in was built in 1958 and was part of the "Aufbauprogramm", a plan to create new space to live in for the people in berlin, when large parts of areas where people lived were destroyed in world war II. that is why the house is not the most charming one, but the area is -though it is located in the middle of berlin- quite calm, very safe and very central.

More about us

  1. I am a dipl. biologist who just finished university and my girlfriend is a lawyer who recently passed the bar exam. We would like to exchange houses for one to three months. We don`t have a car anymore and it`s very easy, reliable and save to use the public transportation. If where you live a car is needed and you would give us yours during the exchange we will buy you a ticket for the public transportation system in return. We are very cat and dog friendly (used to have both) so we would take very good care of your pets...the part of taking very good care is also true for anything you leave with us, of course.

Where is it?

The Kurfürstendamm with the "KaDeWe" which ?in case you don`t know- is Berlin's premium department store is only a 6 minutes walk away. The public transportation system in Berlin is very good and the next subway stations are very close to the flat (e.g. Spichernstraße, Wittenbergplatz or Viktoria-Luise-Platz). The "Schöneberger Kiez" is within walking distance which means that you`d have great opportunities finding nice places to have lunch/dinner/cocktails at.
