About our home

The apartment is in the third floor of an old house (Altbau). It was renovated in 2007, has two bedrooms and two living rooms, one large bathroom with a tub and shower, and one smaller with a shower and of course a kitchen with a large balcony. As an "altbau" apartment it is "old style", high ceiling, nice wooden doors, wooden floor etc. We have been living here for a few years, and like it very much.

Since 2012 we've got a second home in Reykjavik, Iceland. It is a stylish house with a special design concept, right on the sea with a large garden. There are 3 bedrooms, a large bathroom, guest toilet, sauna with extra shower and a large open space for cooking, dining and living. Definitely the best is the view of the sea.

More about us

  1. We are a couple with 2 sons, 5 year and 2,5 year old. We are both professionals and enjoy travelling when able to get away. We have done some home exchange before and we are open to suggestions.

Since we have two residences (Berlin and Reykjavik) we are a bit more flexible and do not necessarily need to exchange simultaneously.

Neighbourhood

We live in the nicest and liveliest part of Berlin, Prenzlauer Berg. It offers a great variety of Cafes, Restaurants, small shops etc. The center of former East-Berlin is nearby (Alexanderplatz). Easy access to public transportation.

Our second home is located in the central district of of Reykjavik. Reykjavik is the center of culture and life of the Icelandic people as well as being one of the focal points of tourism in Iceland. The city itself is spread out, with sprawling suburbs. The city centre, however, is a very small area characterised by eclectic and colourful houses, with good shopping, dining and drinking.
