I live in a lovely, spacious apartment in Berlin-Neukölln. It consists of a well-equipped kitchen and a bathroom with a bathtub. There is one big bedroom with a double bed and an antique working desk, a wardrobe cabinet, and a small but pleasant balcony. Next room is the living room, which has 2 couches, a TV, and a stereo. Although the apartment is 2 minutes away from numerous bars and cheap shopping, the area is very quiet. Every Tuesday and Friday at a walking distance, there is an exciting multicultural street-market where you can buy everything your heart desires. (is this at Kottbuser Tor?)
The riverside of the "Landwehrkanal" can be reached in 2 minutes, and the U7 subway station "Rathaus Neukölln" is 5 minutes away from the apartment on foot. From there, you can reach the "Alexanderplatz" stop and many major attractions in Berlin (for example the "Brandenburger Tor", the "National", and the "Bodemuseum") in about 15 minutes.
We also have some very interesting and nice places to explore in the nearby neighborhood. You can walk to "Richardplatz" within 15 minutes and take a look at its 200 year old forge.
Here are some links:
You can also find 2 beer gardens, 4 restaurants and an ice cream cafe in the same area.
Some steps forward, you'll find the "Boehmisches Dorf" with its tiny houses, narrow streets and gardens full of flowers and fruit trees, not to mention the beautiful public "Comenius Garden".
Walking just some more across Karl-Marx-street, you are in the "Koerner Park" with its beautiful classic architecture, galleries, and cafes and a fountain with many children playing around it.
Since June 2010, the former Berlin "Tempelhof Airport" has been re-opened to the public just 2 stations away from the apartment. It's quite a unique place, right in the center of a big city, to see a 2km wide open grass field and sky!
