About our home

Our apartment is cozy and quiet, has 3 bright rooms, a smaller room (14 sqm), a long hallway and two large, bright rooms that are connected through an aperture and a small staircase. In addition, the apartment has large windows and a French balcony. All rooms have a high ceiling and a wooden floor giving you a great space feeling.

The Building is a 19th century Jugendstil edifice that consists of a front building two side wings and a rear building. We are in the fourth floor of a side wing having one floor above us that it gets not to hot in the summer and not to cold in the winter times. The patio is planted green and the house has a friendly atmosphere.

The apartment is fully furnished: double bed, sofa bed, armchair, two jobs, shelves, TV, DVD player, Hifi, High-Speed Internet, WLAN and so on. A well equipped kitchen, small dining table in the kitchen and a large one in the living room, a washing machine, a dishwasher, a large fridge, bath tub – everything you need to have a good time in Berlin.

More about us

  1. We are a couple, 30 and 31 years old. My boyfriend works as IT-freelancer and I am a Spanish and sports teacher. We have no direct experience with homeswapping yet, but we have been a lot of times guests in other people houses and vice versa and we had only positive experiences as we are trustworthy, clean and respectful people. We also let our home for seven month to a family (children are welcome!) while we have been travelling and they enjoyed their time a lot (and we too)! When we were travelling during our studying time we learned to love living in other parts of the world. And that’s what we are searching for: we’d like to interchange our home with someone in Spain for 2 or 3 month, starting in middle of may 2011.

Do you want to spend some month in Berlin in the spring and early summer time (the most exciting and beautiful in Berlin!)? Do not hesitate to contact us...

Where is it?

Our home is perfectly located in the district of Prenzlauer Berg, right on the Helmholtz square with good transport links (underground Eberswalderstr 5 minutes walk, S-Bahn Schönhauser Allee 5 minutes, trams). Around the square are numerous cafes, bars, restaurants, pubs, clubs, galleries and shops, there is a pleasant and lively very international atmosphere. The bohemian lifestyle of the neighbourhood is somehow a mixture of Brooklyn, Soho and the typical eastern berlin flow.

During the daytime there are a lot of students and young families with their children around. The street cafes are crowded and some bands may perform on the street. In the night you may visit one of the very cool bars around, listen to some music in a nightclub and meet people from anywhere in world.

Every Saturday there is a weekly market in front of our house where you can buy fresh tasty food. The nearest supermarket is only a minute. In the “Mauerpark” which is just a stone's throw away there is every Sunday a big flea market and there are performing a lot of artists and musicians – like a small independent festival.
What we like most in this city and especially in this area is the 'live and let live' attitude of the people.
