About our home

Our home is a three bedroom appartment close to the city center of Berlin, Germany. It is on the top floor (4th) without an elevator. We are a family of five, so the flat is very kiddie-friendly, both children's bedrooms are equipped with toys and books so your kids will not be bored if you do catch a rainy day. We have one more bedroom and a large living room.
We are located close to an outdoor public swimming pool (open April - September), an ice-rink (open October-March), a park for jogging with numerous playparks for kids and three different subway lines to reach any part of town.
We are also close to the city center and would have bikes available for you to use if you wish.

More about us

  1. Hi!
I am originally from Berlin, but have lived in New Zealand, Canada, Ireland, France & Peru. My husband is swiss and has lived abroad as well. We have three children, age 6,9 & 12 (yes, the picture is a little older...) and love to travel. I am a teacher of English and Spanish at an international secondary school here in Berlin. My husband works in a software company. We live in Berlin and love it - definitely worth a visit :) If you are interested in a house swap, do contact us. Our next holidays are July 23 - August 8, 2018.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

Walking distance to the main shopping street of Berlin (city west), walking distance to our favorite street, Akazienstraße in Berlin-Schöneberg which has numerous cafés, restaurants and small original shops.
We are close to three different subway lines, so you can reach any place in Berlin pretty quickly.

Buzzy restaurants
Our favorite restaurant around the corner is L'italiano Falso, Gasteiner Str. 9, a cute little italian place which makes lovely food, is super friendly and not expensive at all.
Cozy cafés
Zimt und Zucker, Trautenaustraße 12 and Bilderbuch Café, Akazienstr. 28
Retail therapy
Everywhere
Bit of culture
Kurfürsten Damm, Funkturm, Olympic Stadium...
Spot of exercise
A park some blocks down the road or the Grunewald, larger forest about 20 minutes away by bike
Day tripping
Outdoor swimming pool (close-by), and obviously all the sights there are to see here...
