About our home

Our apartment is in an about 100 years old house with 4 floors, so it has this beautiful high ceilings and spacious rooms. A typical old Berlin apartment, restaurated in the early 2000.
The wonderful big kitchen is kind of sitting room as well. Then we have two smaller rooms: my sons children room and my daughters teenage room. Another big room ist my slleping and working room with TV. Remains the bathroom and our balcony, which is not that big but at least big enough for two people to sit outside.
Please mind that we have a cat, who could stay here if you don't mind. Otherwise he will be somewhere else. But if you are allergic towards cats I guess it would not be possible to stay here.

More about us

  1. Who we are? Well, it's me, Julia and my children: Antonia who is 16 and Vinu with his 11 years. We love to travel so we are looking forward to exchange our apartment with a family by this exchange platform.
I am a social worker and interested in arts, dancing, cinema, concerts .... Antonia and Vinu are very smart and nice kids and they don't have any problems giving their rooms to other children and letting them use their stuff, their games and toys.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

We live in the more quiet area of Friedrichshain: an inner-city-area, where mainly families, students .. are living. There are some cafès, restaurants, pubs around, you have supermarkets and a whole food shop close by, some little shops and playgrounds: a very nice playground is just opposite the house.

It's just a 10-15 min walk to the more pulsing part of Friedrichshain: the area around Boxhagener Platz and Simon-Dach-Str. with loads of cafès. restaurants, bars, little shops with clothes, handicrafts, jewellery and so on ... the fleamarket on Sundays, the weekly market on Saturday, independent cinemas and a little further the area of RAW-Tempel with several Clubs.

Public transport is just close by: from the nearby underground station: U Bhf Samariterstrasse it takes you not even 10 min by tube to Alexanderplatz. Just a little longer walking distance than the tube-station is the train station: S Bhf Frankfurter Allee. So you can easily get in and around Berlin wherever you want to go to, from our place. You don't need a car at all to get around here.
So you can easily explore Berlin and come back home here and enjoy the area and sit in a café or reastaurant relax, while the kids are playing on the playground...
